in some cases you will have to adjust the governor arm!

To avoid that i just cut a 100 plate, it has a hook on the bottom, which prevents the governor to ride under the plate.

does the governer arm adjust easy? thats the screw in the back of the pump behind the plate with the 10mm lock nut right? so all i want to do is make it so the governer arm touches the plate when im done.

what pump is it? if its not a 215 pump you can do a shorter rack plug to get more travel on the govenor arm. you have to mod your afc housing a little too to get the full benifit. dont waste your time if your already have a 215 pump.

gov arm adjust: on the back of the pump is a cover plate, that has 2 screws in there, tied together with a cable when not messed with.
in there are two screws, its the bottom one. yep it has a 10mm lock nut,

yeah basicly you want the gov arm to touch the plate, the gov are comes up as rpms rise, so anywhere on the bottom is fine

When I adjusted my arm on my dually, the lock nut and adjusting screw had galled together. Needed a small flat head screwdriver that would fit through a 3/8" socket so I could hold the screw while loosening the nut. Wasn't fun.

As you will see any blind man could adjust the governor arm. If you have gauges, you can use them to fine tune the arm.
