welcome me to the club guys.VP-44
well I lost a battery today in the 01 SO 5spd so after changing the batteries and cleaning the AFE I checked for codes...and wala there it is 0216 and 0602.IM going to to clear the codes but, I not to sure it wont come back. truck runs fine and has plenty of power.
anyone think the dead battery could of set it?
right at 100K miles if its the VP the fass didnt prevent it
PS whos got the best VP????

Welcome to the club grasshopper. I have the Industrial Injection HRVP. Love it. Been on the truck 13 months, wish I had done it sooner. HRVPs act different on each truck, some get 60-70 hp out of one, and some get 10-20. All I can say is it woke mine up.
I do not believe dead batteries would set the code, but I cannot be sure. Clear the codes and drive it, if it dies then get a HRVP.

well If my HO pump dies I might do the HRVP but this truck has a smarty and RV275 and I realy dont want it to have any more power cuz I know the kid driving it will somehow nuke it.
Im looking for life expectancy! thinking of a blue chip Diesel VP ,anyone have a long running VP from them? or hear anything bad .
what does sheids do to there VPs to try and make them last.
(I know, VP+last = oxymoron)

Any of you guys tap the wire on your HRVP pump? I've heard that there is no difference running a HRVP over a SO VP pump once you tap the wire? I'm in need of buying another pump shortly, **** VP blues

Supposedly scheids does a bit more internally to theirs but im not sure. All I know is it seems like trucks with scheid pumps put down more power but Ive just heard of two head to head cases. My HRVP44 is tapped with my Drag Comp. Shes a monster.
