Water/meth & NOS????
im in the process of making my own water/meth system, but im also curious about nitrous, and if i could do both or is that just a bad idea? is nos really hard on diesel motors like they are on gassers, and would nos be a better power booster and egt cooler than water/meth, just curious thanks

People have run both. The concern with anything such as nitrous or water/meth is headgasket failure.
I've run a small shot of nitrous and haven't notice much if any egt reduction. I've no experience with water/meth.

Nos isn't really for a EGT reduction but for short blast of alot of extra power, if you wanna pick up around 50hp and have some egt reduction go with water/meth , strait water will give you a pretty good egt reduction, what are you planning on doing with the truck

im going to be running w/m, nos, and propane shortly, and from what info i have gathered, the only things that you risk running any or all of these is headgasket failure, real easy over boost, and staining your pants from the extra power . i will let yall know how they all work together when i get them in the truck, but i have friends that run nos/propane and propane/water-meth, and both of them say that spray was the best investment for hp that they made.

I am running both systems on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve. I have a Scheid Diesel Water Injection System and use ONLY distilled water with a pump lubricant but NO methanol! I tried methanol with the Snow Water System I had perviously and found out pretty quickly that with the "static" or "fixed" timing with the P-7100 fuel pump that detonation is a big problem, at least it was on my truck! I compare it to BAD spark knock on a gas engine at high RPM's and on my truck with 20+ degrees of timing, believe me, it was bad!
My Scheid Water Injection System is set-up so the nozzles are going right into the cylinder head ports and I have five nozzles right now. Because of that, I run my Nitrous Nozzle into the intercooler pipe on the passenger side of the truck (hot side) and have had no problems with it so far. I cannot put the NOS nozzle in the intake horn because of the risk of the NOS possibly freezing the water droplets in the cylinder head. Nitrous oxide comes out at about -120 degrees below zero so in my case, that was something to be concerned with. I would disagree with some of the other members here about the ability of the nitrous to "cool" the EGTS's also. Although I am only running a small shot right now, it definitely helps to cool the exhaust gas temperatures! I also have run both the water and the NOS together with no problems, but again, they are far enough apart I have not had a problem.
One issue I would look at though is your head gasket if you intend to run either of them or both of them together. I have 14mm studs and firerings, so I don't worry about it. But, I do not think I would want to be doing what I am doing with stock headbolts or just 12mm studs. IMHO, I think you need at least 12mm studs and at least some O-rings in the head.
Hope this has helped you some. Good luck on setting up your system!

22° timing, and Snow stage 3, cant get it to knock on Either boost only, or WOT mode. Running 2 625ml nozzles. Ive seen you post this before, so Ive tried to make it knock but havent been able to. Strange huh?

wow thanks for all the feed back, i just like modding my truck so i'll probably do both, i won't run them at the same time though, i just wanted a little extra power at the track and better cooling when towing. NOS for racing and w/m for towing. thanks

Don't take this the wrong way, but I sincerely hope you don't think that I am telling this DTR Member (65fury) anything other than the honest truth, because what I posted is exactly what happened.
I will add to my other post that each truck is different and your conditions with the engine, methanol mixture, advanced timing to name a few may have been very different from the way my truck was set-up.
I can tell you at the time it happened to mine, I had alot more than 22 degrees also!
