Valet 561R - remote starter - airbag/abs on

1999 Dodge 2500 Diesel

I just purchased a Valet 561R from CC for $56 OTD and installed it over the last couple of days. Got everything installed but when I press the remote start, the dash lights come on and it goes through the sequence to start, all normal sounds from under hood (except running diesel engine) then... Nothing!
No crank and the abs and airbag lights are on.
It just sits there and smiles at me like I'm suppose to know what's wrong. What a tease!
Got the Ignition, starter, acc, WTS, tach, hood switch, brake, neutral wire installed. Power looks good and the unit is programmed for diesel. I'm stuck

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Well do what I did and start at the begining and read the directions and check your connections. Mine also had a self diagnostic that helps too.
I read the directions right but didn't get what they meant, once. Called the company.
Hooked to the wrong wire once, colors were close. You might see if it has a trouble shooting section. Good Luck sometime these can be real pain.
Sometimes it can be the little things too like the hood not
being shut all the way or not adjusted right

Did the same....grounded the neutral wire but plan on connecting to neutral switch if I ever get the truck put back together.

I just installed one of these in my 94 and it works well. I have installed many DEI remote starts, I have never had a bad one from the box (unless installed wrong and fried, even that is hard to do).

Check your fuses, also check your starter wire hookup. (isnt that thing tiny!! lol) How did you hook the wires together.....don't tell me scotchlocks either!!

I haven't seen anything about a starter kill.....I don't think this unit has it.

OK.....I'm being honest here! I used large 12-10 3M scotchloks on the starter, ignition and accessory wires. They looks heavy enough to handle the current. I'm not aware of any other method to attach the wire without soldering. Should I take out the scotchloks?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the comments!

Making progress! Found the reason why the airbag / abs is on. There is a programming feature that turns the accessory on / off during "wait to start." Default was set to off. Turned it on and airbag / abs is now off. Still no crank!
Bummer!

I think maybe you got the wrong wait to start wire, usually if the alarm is doing the start sequence and it doesn't start, it will cycle through a few times and you will see the lights flash, but if it just sits there, maybe its waiting for the wait to start light to turn off and if you got the wrong wire it just waits forever, try disconnecting that wire and try it. that will tell you if you got the wrong one.

Thanks everybody for all the help online and off. I did find that I have two orange/black wires in the wait to start harness. Got the DMM out and found the right one. With all the suggestions I received, I was able to complete the install including locks. Took about a week to complete but learned so much about my truck.
Thanks again!

Where did you tap into the door locks? The only place I found those wires was buried in the drivers side kickpanel.

brandon.

Question Color and Polarity

Hey govt, sorry to jump in, but since your working on door
locks, I have 2 easy questions. What color are the wires you hooked into,
and what polarity were they or signal did you send them, negatve or positive?
Is there more than one bundle of wires in kick panel?
Doing an electric locking toolbox if you wanna know.
Thanks in advance

Hey,
There are two bundles in the drivers kick. You'll find a Orange/Purple (+lock), Pink/Purple (unlock) in one of the bundles. I used two 5-pin relays.
