Basketball Size.........
SO....just a thought in my head......i want to keep boost lower than what most people run.....i can bring it up later when i mod the motor for it....BUT....what about 2 HX-35's? One with the 9cmWG and one with 18-20+CM (Heck a H1C would fit that)? I would assume that that would keep boost down (I want around 40PSI to 45MAX)....but am i missing the point here? The HT3B would work fine....but would have to use 2 external WG's to keep pressures down.......i dont know...still learing this concept.....but if i do it...i want it right!

Dan, no not at all. Twins as we call them here are not really 'twins' but compounded turbochargers. After the primary compressor does its work, the air it discharges is at a much higher density. So then the secondary compressor can be much smaller, since its moving a much smaller volume of air. That is why you can go with such a massive primary turbo, and the secondary can be just a cute little HX35, and you can make 700+ HP. Two compressors the same size compounded would be woefully imbalanced. Do an internet search for information on multistage centrifugal compressors, like those used for natural gas compression, and in large air compressor installations, or the multistage compressor section of a jet engine for that matter, and you will learn allot about how the two ( or more) compressors behave when compounded (arranged in series).
