Hey guys,I have an 01 3500 5spd.The turbo is hardlined,and I heard somewhere that it was supposed to be a soft line to the wastegate on manuals and hard on the autos.I am wondering if my turbo is an hx or an hy.Is there anywhere to look to verify which it is?i am also wondering is someone blew up a turbo once and replaced it with one from an auto.Any info would be appreciated gentlemen

 

Far as I know... hardline wastegate actuator has to be an HY-35. Don't know how it got on your truck??
I would take some simple compressor & turbine measurements and find a truck with an HX-35 for comparison. Can't remember anything stamped on the turbo that will tell you??

i thought the holset ID plate would have it stamped/printed on there...im pretty sure mine did, but mine might have just said 35 and not listed the HX part
