Which Fuel System / Which Turbo?

Alright, now im not looking into spendin big bucks or anything but what could i do for a fuel system. Dont want a fass. but might get a fass 2 if the price is right. What do they replace? What does one of them cost? what about a big line kit?

Now for a turbo. What would be the ideal turbo for my set up? if i had to, i could sell my exhaust brake to dad and get me an inline brake.

Thanks for the info.

You can see the install pictures and directions at www.dieselpp.com. The FASS replaces everything- whereas the Fass2 just replaces the pump portion and relocated it to the rear. The Fass2 although does not remove the air from the fuel which could be a possible disadvantage. I cant find a Fass for under 599.00 or a Fass2 for under 389.00. Both are far better than stock.

What me and a few other folks on this board have done is go the cheaper route than fass. I know its not preferred as much as a fass, but for people like me on a strict budget, it was the way to go.

-Replaced the stock lp w/ a pusher pump (Holley black). ~$125
-Upgraded fuel lines from tank to canister w/ 3/8" rubber fuel hose from
Oreilys ~$50-60 (I still need to upgrade from the canister to vp44...)

I idle around 20 psi and can't drop it below 14-15 at wot. Granted, this is not the most popular way to go, but it was a smart choice for me.

P.S This setup will void warrenty, so keep that in mind.

I got the bolts from genos but if you were smart you'd go ahead and get scotty's fuel system which replaces all the banjos with straight fittings which flow a HUGE amount of fuel and it also replaces the line with 3/8" or 1/2".

I 2nd that. With the holley and fuel lines mentioned above your almost @ $200.00, + hose clamps, + the banjo bolts, your sittng somewhere around $250??? Warranty on the holley is what 90 days? Some have had the holleys leaking because there not rated for diesel. The FASS has a 4yr unlimited mileage guarrantee? FASS is rebuildable with replacing the brushes. I factored all these items in as well and the FASS was the best way to go. Just my $.02

P.S. Almost forgot, the FASS II costs about $360-$380.

I'm not convinced that the FASS is necessary until you get to major HP.

For example: I tested a Catcher with my Mach 4s, and this combo has dynoed a solid 400hp uncorrected. My poor little HX35 was begging for mercy.

Anyway, even at WOT with this amount of fuel flow, my FP stayed at a solid 8psi WITH THE OEM LP. The only fuel delivery upgrade I have is Scotty's Smart fuel setup (AKA Max-flow). With these larger fittings and lines, I have plenty of fuel delivery for 400hp.

Smart Fuel System: ~$120
FASS: ~$600

You do the math. I can't see how the FASS is worth the upgrade if you're under 400hp.

Now, if you can't sustain decent FP with better fittings and lines, then you obviously have to do something more drastic. Like a FASS or somesuch. I'd personally just go to an aftermarket pump with a bottom feed from the tank and use as much of the stock fuel sytem as possible.
