Shock???

A buddy of mine has a 99 2500 4wd. He has a 8 camper that doesn't weight too much. And a 21' bayliner boat that he tows with it. He runs empty most of the time. What would be the best shock for the money to replace his stock shocks?

Thanks
Kris

I'm running Tuff Country right now they have an awesome ride but I don't know how well they help in the carrying weight dept. I fill my truck dailey with lots of weight and it rides nice but my rear end drops a few inches. Here's a pic of my truck in work mode so you can see that it drops but it still rides nice. This fall I'm going to put on some airbags and that should correct this little problem. A lot of other people are running Bilstein 5100's I have had Bilsteins before on a car and was way happy with them, but I haven't had them in the truck application. I would suggest something that is adjustable, i.e. Rancho 9000's or the airbag deal. The airbags are a few $$ but they hold more lbs. than your axle can carry.

I have Rancho RS9000's and Firestone air bags for carrying my 2500# camper. Both are adjustable.

Golly!!! What do you have in there Smokin?? I had a whole Escalade frame and hood, and junk in the back of mine and it did not drop the truck at all. Is that drywall in the trailer?? I know that stuff is heavy!!!

I had about 40 boxes of mud @ 49 lbs each and all that drywall on the trailer. The bed of the trailer was sagging down to the axle. I drug it around an unexcavated lot and backed it up to the back of the house to unload it! It was fun showin' off...I had all the stucco crew placing bets on getting stuck! The other day I had 43 boxes @ 39 and 30 boxes @ 49 and a hundred or so pounds of cornerbead

I love the Rancho 9000's.... at least in the rear... for adjustability. At 9700 lbs (5-55 gal drums in the bed) I get little sag in the rear end, with the Rancho's cranked all the way up. I also have towing/camper package with overload spring.
