As anyone noticed there Tst mp3 to surge or buck when hitting the go fast pedal hard. Or could it be from the cold weather.

Never saw it on a regular TST. But the Comp (CE) edition would shudder above power level 6.

I drove my truck longer today on the Highway and I noticed that the truck would surge more when I would up the number and the box. Also the surge would get more noticed able when boot levels was over 20lbs and above.
I dont the the tst comp but I do have a hrvp would that have something to do with it.

Yep, surge and buck were common. The higher the setting, the worse it got.

Sure would. TST is a strong fueling box. Anything else contributing to added fueling could cause the cavitation (my opinion) that results in a shudder!
Stay on lower power settings (unless playing with Power Strokes) and you will be fine.

Shudder is uncomfortable but does no serious damage of which I am aware. My TST comp would do it after every 1/4 pass at the track. Just keep it to a minimum!

So if it surges at about every level. Then what would be a good power level to run For the most power and should I be adding timming too. Also what hp should I see out of this box?

 

I ran with my TST off due to surge and just ran a timing box for daily use. But that's with big sticks.

YOU guys are pointing at the Tst box but the truck still does with the box completly off. Wonder how the timing was set when the HRVP got put in Ryan! We need to try a Drag comp and see what happens when we throw more timing at it. I'm not really sure. You should record a sound clip of what your truck sounds like at Idle and maybe these VP guys could tell you more. It does sound pretty wild but pretty cool to me

 

I'd suspect the HRVP as the main culprit.

Here's a question I should have asked sooner... explain what you mean by surging?? When most people have a complaint about the TST CE box, it's because the pump shudders when letting off the go fast pedal too fast... as RowJ said, the CE is such an aggressive fueling box that it will completely or nearly empty the VP of fuel and this causes the cavitation in the pump.

 

When I started the thread I did not think that it could of been the HRVP. This monday Iam going to get a SMARTY, so I can add timming to see what it does. I will see about getting a sound clip of my truck at ideal too.

 

The shudder is around 2000rpm and on and kinda jerks back and forth to the point where you can notice a back and forth feeling. All of the gauges read fine. The problem is on the high pressure side of the pump.

 

mine just surges very little under 1500 rpm, but after that it goes away...
