JR Adkins HX55 dyno graph?

Anyone have any dyno graphs for a truck with the JR HX55 turbo? Maybe a before and after installation? I am trying to gather as much information as I can. I saw on another website some graphs with time to power for a different turbo, and would like to see one like that for the HX55. Anyone help?

Thanks!

I had a customer make 522 with JR's HX55. I know there is a graph out there somewhere with a 604 on it. 24 valve.

J.R. Makes some sweet chargers. I haveing my hx-35 rebuilt for next years pulling season so I can't wait to see if my truck runs any better on a fresh charger.

you DO NOT Want it for a chipped 24v...to make that a GOOD charger you need a 12v with enough fuel for 550hp and about 4500 rpms...

i ran one on my 24v with 150hp injectors, and edge drag comp and i could not spool it to save my life, at 2100 the boost started to come on and it was defueling at 2700 so there was NO power band.

save your money and get a better charger for you application.

Not all of JR's 55's are the same. There was a model made specifically for a 24 valve. Give him a call and ask about his "baby" 55.

Anyone have any info on JR's turbo he did a group buy a few years back on? I remember him saying it would support about 425-450 if I recall. I measured the wheels if anyone needs the specs, surprisingly it is exactly the same as another turbo out there. The group buy price if I remember correctly was about $850 or $895. The markings are all ground off the housings and I am wanting some dyno info to see if it is the turbo I should go with. I have had it sitting around now for about 2-3 years.

My cousin runs one on his 12 valve he pulls, and it is a sweet charger in my opinion. Spool is definately slower than some others you can get, but it spools pretty good, and it will hold 3rd gear down the track a lot better than the sled puller 68 he had would.

The group buy turbo was weak and ran hot.

I had JR's 'Lil' 55.... an HX40/HX-55 hybrid. Smaller than a full 55 and still had way to much lag for my automatic at 525 hp.
It had a compressor bore of 64 mm.

The HX-55 comes with a 66 mm compressor. JR makes pulling 55's with 72mm, 74mm 76mm compressors.... and I believe one even bigger than that!

In my opinion these turbos are strictly for specialty applications.... primarily sled pulling. So it depends where you plan on using it.
If on the street, I would say look elsewhere. I believe JR would tell you the same.
