TST power package or GSK???
TST power package or GSK???
I've gone through the archives but did not find a lot that compared the two products, and whether or not one compliments the other or the one is enough.
My questions:
1) which one is the better value? I know the gsk is cheaper, but the power kit comes with a wastegate fitting and torque plate.
2) which one will leave me wishing I'd gotten the other as well.
3)besides adjusting the valves and advancing the timing this will probably be the only mod I do--what would you choose??
Thank you in advance

If you are only going to do one, and you have a stock automatic; go with the GSK, and slide your stock plate full forward. It will make a huge difference in the driveability of the truck, and will run much better than it would with just the plate. With only the plate; it feels great when the converter is locked, but when the converter is unlocked(every time you take off) you wont notice much power difference. The GSK, and sliding the plate forward will make a big difference with the converter locked, and definatley when you are taking off/converter is unlocked. I vote GSK. But yes; both would be best.

About halfway down this post. http://dieselram.com/cgi-bin/ultimat...c;f=3;t=002205 Read the warnings!!!
Thanks. I can make about anything, but time is a major factor in my life right now with my business and twin 5yr olds.
Just to install a GSK and a plate is gonna be late at night and whatever it takes. So since I've decided on a #10 plate, the hardest to grind, think I'll buy one and cut that effort right out of the equation.
Thanks for the help everyone. Going to go with a 3000 GSK and #10 plate. Advance timing to 15 or so.

Get yourself some gauges if you're changing or sliding your plate. They're a lot cheaper than a set of pistons. I just ran my truck through the gears this AM. It hit 1350* at 32 lbs. boost. My plate is in the stock position.
