GOOD MORNING GENTS
I KNOW I'AM BEATING A DEAD HORSE AGAIN BUT,I NEED TO REPLACE MY TRANS LINES.I WAS THINKING OF MAKING MY OWN,CAN'T AFFORD NEW ONES .A TRANNY SHOP SAID THAT ONE OF THE LINES HAS A DRAIN BACK VALVE.DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHICH LINE HAS IT PPPPLLLLLLLEEASSSSSEEEEEE.

The only thing I could think of would be to go Dodge and ask them for the lines. That way the lines will be pre bent and shaped and all you have to do is unscrew the old ones, and screw in the new ones.

My lines leaked on my 94, right where they run underneath the tranny. they were rubbing together, and just put little pin holes in the line. Being 16 at the time (September) and making payments on the truck, I couldn't afford to throw $350 at the dodge dealer. I went to a local hydro shop, and picked up some 1/2" line, and bent up my own. MAKE SURE that when you reinstall them, that you check for any spot they might rub on something and put rubber hose around the line. The check valve on our trucks is in the rubber "hot line" going from the tranny to the cooler. If you follow the steel hot line out of the left side of the tranny and up along the right side, it will connect to a rubber hose. That is where the check valve is (I tried to blow through, and couldn't).

Just reuse the old fittings on the end, and flare them on. My hydraulic shop told me the fittings were pretty unique, so I reused them. Works fine right now! If I did it again, I would get aluminum line instead of steel, so it won't rust over time, or, you could spend 75 bucks and go braided stainless. I am even thinking about tearing mine out and putting braided line on, so I get a consistant 1/2" ID the whole way.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do. BTW, this is the best time (and excuse) to add a trans. temp gauge
