replace transmission lines with plastic clips
im looking to replace the lines that have the plastic clips. Some people have mentioned that they just installed 1000 psi hydraulic lines in-place of the steel tubes. the alternative is to pay $400 for new steel lines w/out the plastic clips.
im looking to use 1000 psi hydraulic lines if possible. does anyone know what the fittings are that screw into the transmission and into the cooler by the turbo are?
what type of thread is it? ( pipe thread , JIC, fine thread, coarse thread) and what size ?

You can actually bend up your own, also. That's what I did, but use aluminum line so they don't rot through. If I remember right, the fitting that screws into the transmission is pipe thread, and the fitting that attaches to that is just a flare, so parallel thread.
They have a better fitting now that does away with the plasic clips. It looks the same except inside the fitting there are metal jaws that lock onto the tubing. You can get them at your better tranny shops for around $30 each.
