This is a good question I need to do mine also after I was warned by the last guy who priced a new trans for me that these things are the quickest way to loose a trany.....

I eliminated mine when I replaced the lines. I have barb type fittings and stainless steel hose clamps now.

The new metal couplings don't work on the lines designed for plastic ones.
You either have to replace the lines with ones from Dodge (somewhat expensive) or rig up something on your own with hydraulic hose, etc.
Here's a parts list> http://dodgeram.org/tech/transmissio..._couplings.htm

so just getting a hydrolic hose made would solve my problems if it i ever mover were it is warm i will just add a bigger cooler if the lines are used as a heat sink

my other thought was to use the stock lines i got and get one of those things that just slides on the hard like had a compression fitting on it to put on new lines i have used them on power steering lines in the past and worked well

Just get some hydraulic lines made up , i brazed a #8 JIC - 1/2" pipe fitting into my stock fitting, some guys have had luck just putting a pipe fitting straight into the trans and using hydraulic lines , But be very careful putting pipe thread into the trans , the hole in the trans is straight pipe thread, it is not tapered.

My hole setup cost me about 95$, the only metal lines i retained were going to the cooler , i had then flared with a nut put on to accept a JIC fitting.

There are or were some pictures in my gallery.
