Come on guys help us here!! Fuel sender assy part #

My buddy mopower just got a 1998 12V. The fuel sender assy is shot... rusted and leaking.

We can't find the correct part. His has a 4-prong electrical connector and they keep giving him ones with 8-prong connectors.

Has anybody run into this problem? Anybody have the correct part number., Chrysler has not been any help. Truck is down.

98 was a crazy year because cummins was supposed to start with the 24V at the change from model year 97 to 98. They should however be able to look them up by the VIN.

The other thing you could do at dodge is have them compare wiring diagrams for 97, early 98, late 98 and 99 to try to find the one with the 4 conductors. then order that module or use the diagram to cut and splice the 4 pin on to the one you have now.

Hoot just a guess on my part maybe they keep ordering one for a 98.5 24v and what you need is the earlyer one . Have them order one for a 97 an see if that matchs up . The dealers here in my area use the vin # to order parts which should get you the right stuff as long as the computer is programed properly.
Hope this helps you a little good luck.

The Vin number is being used by Dodge. The module I ordered was a 96-97 because the computer is wrong and doesnt list one for a 98 12 valve, only the one with the pump in it. The wiring diagram is a great idea though...another trip to dodge tomorrow I guess.
