Thats fine if you don't have an extra hour and the know how to install a shift kit.
The trans builders install a shift kit in a stock valve body and sell to you for $400.

Yes but they do some secret stuff based on lots of experience. I've heard with the Transgo you don't utilize all the drive pressure.

Their VB's also have all new electronics/solenoids in them. I can assure you they dont just install a shift kit. They do that, but then they know how to set it up perfect, and do some other things that a shift kit wont do.

Will your shift kit lock the converter up in 1st gear if you want? My valve body will.

It takes longer than an hour to install a shift kit too.

Would you care to share where you got your smokin' deal with the rest of us?

Sure, My cousin bought a Goerend VB for a truck he had. He decided to get rid of the truck, so my transgo went in there, and I gave him $100. Pretty good deal I thought. I just got lucky and it worked out good for me. I plan on going with Goerend's whole tranny one day anyways, so he will take all the parts i have already off the price of a new transmission.

Keep an eye out for Valve Bodies in the classifieds. You can find used ones for $200-300 sometimes.

Thanks for the reply. The more I read about Goerend the better they sound, I just wish I had the money for their Transmission. I never thought about the classifieds good tip, thanks.

Yeah, I have been saving for the whole deal for a while. I already have the coverter, VB, billet input and billet apply levers. The good thing is he takes the price of all that off of the new transmission as long as they are all his parts. So another $1700 or so and ill have the whole thing. Mine hasnt died yet though, so i keep running it.
