i have an after market vb and tq converter, but i thing it's time to go deep in the trans and fix her up. what internal upgrades are there besides billet shafts. like clutch packs, planateries, and different drums are what i'm wondering about.
what does gorend put in his trans's i'm looking to get 500 hp out of the truck one day and want to never worry about that trans slipping again
, can i buy those seperatly from gorend, also i want to even get his 3 disk converter and valve body one day. any info or thoughts accepted

i don't think you will need much more than a hp rebuild kit. do a search under my user name for building your own trans. it is a long thread but a really good read. i have had 500 rwhp with just a stock tranny with a tripple disk converter for over 40k miles. but i have a 2wd truck that spins the tires when the power hits.
Just go ahead and order the full deal from Goerend if you want to never have to worry about it again. It will be warrantied for 100k miles and you will have peace of mind. Although Im sure anyone who knows what they are doing could install all the upgraded parts with a good TC and VB and be fine too

For 500rwhp you will not need a whole lot of updates really... Borg-Warner friction plates and steel separator plates as well as kick down and reverse bands will hold just fine... Changing the front gear to a steel carrier is recommended as well as updating the intermediate shaft. The rear gear should be at least updated to a six gear aluminum carrier (steel isn't as important on the rear gear because of the way the rear planetary works). The OD unit should also have the planetary updated to the 15.5* set and can be had in a six gear unit also for reasonable. The input shaft should be billet, but the output shaft would be fine as OEM. Dave's triple disc is a great product with a great warranty, but his VB is unnecessary when one could just as easily install a Trans-Go shift kit and hold 800hp with this build as listed.
