Tranny sugestions
I just bought a 97 dodge 4x4 dually auto with a fresh tranny. I was wandering how to make the tranny shift into OD faster? it kinda hangs in 3rd until you let off of the gas a little then it will kick in. Also where di I find the guidelines for adjusting the line pressure. All I'm ever going to have in this truck is a #10 plate and 3k GSK. Its going to be my tow rig for my 94 Dodge truck.
thanks

I would strongly suggest adding the plate and gsk before worrying about the shifting of the tranny. In my truck it always shifted slow until I installed the 3 gsk and now it works great!!!
just my .002
PS do a search on line psi as I seen something about it on here a while back.
good-luck

How do you who have a shift kit like them?
Does a shift kit do the same thing as a valve body?
where is a good place to get a shift kit?

I have installed a few of these for people, the shift kit from SMR is top notch stuff and works great. This one is totally recommended. There are some others out there but I did not like them. A properly done shift kit is the same as a valve body.

I have the SMR shift kit as well, matter of fact Mcmopar was nice enough to install it for me.
I've also heard that you can run a 48re valve body which will be much improved over the one you have now. Rumor has it that some of the High Performance tranny guys are using this valve body too. Don't you just love the rumor mill.

I paid about 163 doll hairs. If you ask me it looked complicated, but then again I was watching from the sidelines. There is a pretty good diagram that comes with the kit. Set up a video cam over your work space while you take the valve body apart that way if you start to have problem you can watch the tape.
Cool side note: The kite gives you the option to install a drain plug for you stock pan.

I don't think it would help you much with that 5 speed!! But for the RH trannies the kit is 149, and 163 for the RE's. There is a lot involved, but it's not to bad.
