I was looking into the Derale Transmission pan for our rigs. Granted it's not near the snazzy quality as Mag or the others. But it looks like it would cool quite nicely, and for only $80. Hit it with some grey rust paint to help protect it and away you go.

I have a Mag Hytec deep dish on mine (don't remember the model #) and I like it a lot. I wish they didn't use such a small size allen wrench on the drain plugs, but it works.

I have the B&M 10280 on my 47rh. Added 1-2 qts capacity, thick flange, ribbed bottom and a drain plug. I see they are only running around $130 at Jegswhich is less than I paid several years ago.

I like my Mag hytec. You can drain the oil with out spilling it all over you. I know the other pans do that too but the mag has some serious capacity and a port for trans temp. All around it is just a professional looking part that actually looks like an upgrade. Hard to beat.

hi
i would think if you realy want to lower the temp of your trany fluid a larger or aditional cooler would take the heat out faster than trying to cool a large pan of fluid with just the air under truck moving over pan surface ?

i have a large 12 x 24 app. aditional cooler on mine located under bed just forward of the left wheel , i do clean it off app 2 times a year , but have 294,000 miles on my trany stock convertor with lock up switch .

it is plumed into the return line !

i run a mag-hytec DD, been good so far and looks nice when your under the truck working on it (not that it matters much). i did this at the same time i put in gauges, so can't say how much it helped - but i'm sure it didn't hurt!

also, look into a tranny cooler if you're worried about temps. apparently this is one of the best available for our trucks to replace the stocker:
