Lift Pump Replacement

My life pump is going out on a 2002 2500hd with std output engine. Dealer wants 800.00 for an intank lift pump.

Did some digging on the Internet and found that BD has a OEM replacement lift pump, OEM bypass and the flow max.

I do not plan on adding a lot of hp or torque, I want to add an edge ez tow pro tuner box in time. So i'm thinking I can get by with the OEM bypass or replacement.

Wanting to get feed back from folks who have replaced there lift pump, specifically on the BD product(s) mention above. Others welcomed.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

My truck had the awsome intank pump hahaha. It was making 7psi at idle and would drop to 2psi at wide open on a stock engine. I went with a Airdog 100 because I had to pull the tank to get rid of the in tank pump anyway, I also installed the drawstraw V while it was out. If I hadn't needed to drop the tank I would have just went with the Raptor 100 and 3/8 fuel line and got rid of banjo fittings at the fuel filter and pump. I would think the BD pump would be fine but would strongly reccommend getting rid of the tiny banjo fittings and fuel line.

I would go with the Raptor, with 1/2 lines as a minimum. Roughly, $400. dollars of there about. Do not go with the Dealer option, it is the least desired of what it out there. Look at Raptor, Airdog or FASS for replacement pumps and get a gauge if you don't have one. Buy the way, the ones I mentioned are all easy to install if you do your own work. Good Luck, BRO

I would not run the BD pump - dosnt seem to be worth the money to me as it seems to look very much like a stocker. There are many better options spend your hard earned money on a good product. Mitusa, Airdog or Fass.

I installed a Raptor 150 (400.00) in about an hour and a half after reading the instructions. They also have a Big Line Kit from the filter housing to the pump that upgrades to 1/2" line. Around 65.00 I think it was. Now I have fuel up the wazzoo! No need to drop the tank either.

Raptor, Fass, Airdog, or Walbro placed on the driver's side frame will last you forever (or 5-10 years, whichever comes first). As opposed to any intank or OEM style LP which will only last you until you are in a hurry for an important appointment.... You can spend $150-$600 and get something that will give you piece of mind (and save you the $1500 for a new IP) or you can go to your dealer, who would be more than happy to take your money and laugh when you miss your date....
