Tranny

Ok I got the edge juice with the attitude, intake and a straitpipe. I was wondering what I can do to improve my tranny. Does anyone offer a shift kit for it, if so who makes the best one? When I first got my truck I dont know what they did but it shifted so hard I thought it was gunna chirp the tires. Now it softend up a bit and shifts hard but not like it used to. I really can feel it when that converter locks, it pulls like crazy. I dont want to buy a new tranny just yet because that one works fine just wana upgrade it a little. Thanx,

Paul

Paul, there are lots of options and LOTS of reading if you do a search (possibly why no one answered your post).

The big boys are:

DTT - www.dieseltrans.com
Dave Goerend - www.gbtransmissions.com
Suncoast - www.suncoastconverters.com
ATS Diesel Performance - www.atsdiesel.com/ATSWebsite/PDodge.asp
and
Piers: www.piersdiesel.com/DodgeProducts.htm (although its not really advertised on their site)

The extent of tranny modification is usually dictated by how you use your truck, how much HP you have, and how much HP you are planning to have. You might want to look at a performance valve body and possibly a new torque converter. Around 800+ (I think) for the VB and 1000+ for the converter.

A DTT VB is only about $450 if I remember right!

That's the only piece I have priced separately...I'm ganno build the whole tranny at once

Do a search for TransGo...they have a shift kit that a few guys are running, but it seems to be good, I think!!

A new torque converter and a new valve body will help you out a TON!! Especially if that is all you are planning to do powerwise, it should last you a long time.

Check out this guy.....Dave Goerend is his name. www.gbtransmissions.com

The guy is awesome to deal with and he'll talk everything over with you and help you decide what is best for your needs. His warranty is by far the best in the business.

Dr.

PDR no longer builds auto trannys (at this time anyway)
They couldnt find a builder that was reliable/good enough for their standards.
IMHO it was a tough move for them to compeat in that game with DTT only 30kms away. Any way just wanted to let you know.
