is there a vband downpipe for 1996 hx35?

Hello all

Time to replace the exhaust on the 96, but the turbo cast elbow flange bolts are questionable. If they dont come out correctly (aka break) what are my options? The replacement Diamond Eye system is set up to use the flange, is a vband downpipe available for the stock hx35? Or will I need to drill out the bolts? And, what are the chances of the vband clamp coming off i one piece?

Eric

The v-band clamps rarely give trouble upon removal. If your concerned about the bolts just take the elbow off with the exhaust, sounds like your not reusing it? Once you have it off the truck and on the floor use the torch and heat up the ears on the elbow and your bolts should back right out.

The replacement exhaust is designed to reuse the cast elbow, I was just wondering if the chances of breaking the flange bolts or the bolt on the vband clamp are pretty high, or if there is a chance of successfully getting the bolts out. I will try getting the clamp off and go from there.

No problems with v-band clamp or bolts, thanks all. does nickel antiseize help, or does the turbo get so hot it doesnt matter?

I forget if nickel or copper is the higher temp compound. I use it on exhaust. I tend to have my stuff apart fairly regularly, and it lasts long enough to make life easier.

Also not a huge deal to drill out and replace broken studs. Fairly common thing to do on old V8 exhaust manifolds.
