Spend the money and get the pump cover. Better connection and a cleaner look.

FYI
Your warranty on that Cummins is 100,000 miles. Motor only.
I would go for the cover though.

Oscaroc,
The cover we're talkin about is an aftermarket cover that fits on top of you pump that has a separate wire comming out of it just made for and aftermarket fuel module hook up. That way you don't have to tap in to your stock wire.
BD is one of the companys that makes them.

Blue Chip also makes the cover, I've had my Blue Chip for two years and it's great. I tightened it 1/2 turn last year, but that was just-in-case...

If your not worried about the warentee then save your money and just solder it, and dab a good RTV silicon on the conection to keep it isolated and weather tight. You cant get a better connection and you dont run the risk of cracking your circut board( ask Scotty) Just my $.02

The cover was the sneakiest way to get the connection.

If you're not worried about warranty, solder it, best possible connection.
Any of the other methods of piercing just contact the wire, and contacts can come loose.

If your the honest type and just want to make a good connection, try a Posi-Tap.

www.posi-tap.com

The Grabber is $20. The Posi-Tap is $1. Both make good connections, but the posi-tap takes up less space.

Soldering is great, but you can risk damaging the pump wire, or worse, cutting it!

Scotch-loks are OK if you hold them still when closing them, and then never let them move again.

I have yet to see something that makes a better connection for lower price than a posi-tap.

JMHO, as always.
