Superchips Tuner with Comp?
Superchips Tuner with Comp?
Can I stack the Superchip tuner to a Edge Comp? Also.....Any input on the Superchip tuner would be great. Is it similar to a Smarty? Smarty is just so expensive for my wife
Skip the SC tuner.....there is not a lot of bang for the buck and it is in no way comparable to the Smarty. While the Comp is not a good box for stackability (because it adds very aggressive timing advance), it does offer one of the best power gains of any box out there.....but don't bother stacking the SC tuner with the Comp - there will be far too much timing advance.
I have the SC and am pleased with it. I did not want to race anybody or have 9 zillion hp for that matter. All I wanted was a better tow experience which the SC provided. It also is a code reader. My truck stays in OD longer on grades and pulls harder than it did before. The Smarty is better but it costs twice as much and not worth it to me. If you want unbelievable power don't get the SC. If you want better towing for little money while saving your trans, get the SC.
If I remember right, Marco posted before that the superchips tuner does not add timing.
I did run stacked w/ a comp for a while. Not any real big power gains. Seat-o-pants dyno said a little more on the low end. The sc tuner did get the egt's up quick with my old setup (hx-35& 275 injectors).
I may have to see how it does with my new setup one of these days.
