I've wondered the same thing, i have no muffler right now, and want to remove the cat hoping it will make it louder, i dont want to dick with it if it's not going to make a difference though.

Mine didn't come with a cat, but it did have a resignator - and yes, it was louder after I removed that also.

There is a Rather significant difference with the cat on, a buddy that i work with left his on and it isn't any where near as loud as mine is now. And i do agree along with alot of my buddies that the stock straight pipe does sound awesome, I would love to have the dough to be able to put on a 4 or 5 inch straight pipe but then i would be living out of the truck, that don't go to well with the ladies , i try to be somewhat nice to the neighbors by not flooring it until im outa my neighborhood, does any one know if there is some sort of noise ordinance pertaining to exhaust?

hey rganser, I noticed that you are looking for a fuel plate, if you want a cheap one that works check out ebay, you can get an 8 or 10 plate for somewhere around 120, hope that helps your search at all, just type in cummins torque plate and you should get around 12 hits!
