Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I finally installed my Alpine 9833, amp, sub and new speakers and the systems sounds great! However, now I'm going to install the PAC SWI-X so I can use my streeing wheel controls with the new system. Has anyone installed one of these? It looks simple enough, switched power (red), ground (black) and use the white wire from the PAc unit to the Red/Black in the steering wheel column. The directions say to remove the cover around the key cylinder . Anyone done this before? Any tips or advice is appreciated. TIA Phil

Done! Pretty easy to install and works great. If you have the steering wheel audio controls and want to keep them with an after market head unit, I recommend this unit.
