smarty surges with Beta software

I upgraded my smarty a few months ago and ever since it has surged with the cruise control, its not horrible just annoying. This is just running the smarty on 5+ and the tst off. I CAN NOT run the tst on any setting with the smarty in and the cruise set, it will surge so bad it barks the turbo. I just run the tst off most of the time and only flip it on when I wanna play. Anyone have any ideas? Also it did not surge before the update.

Same here and I don't even have the beta software. I just keep my tst off unless I'm passing or want to play.

Supposedly you could put something in the cruise vaccum line to help this problem some people had experienced before even with older software.

I had a comp box stacked with my smarty and had similar problems. I switched to a Bluechip fuel wizard and problems seems to lessen if not completely go away. I just run the smarty most of the time anyway. Everyone I have talked to tells me there is something wrong with my truck and not the performance parts.

Its a wd-40 spray tube. It makes the line smaller.

Ive also done the WD40 tube. When I ran my comp box and the regular smarty software it would not surge IF I had the comp turned off. My smarty with surge by itself now, if you turn the tst on it will surge ten times worse. If I turn the smarty down it will stop, but the whole point of the smarty to me was to leave it all the way up with the TST in reserve.

The TST starts fueling at such a low boost threshold, it makes a problem in the Smarty even worse.

Try running on level 3. See if that helps with the surging. In my case, I got
bad surge even on level 3 and no box on.

No more surge now running a simple Edge box. I can use my cruise on level 4 and even when towing my boat!

I get a surge with just the Smarty as well. I am glad to hear it is not my truck, but an issue with the Smarty.
I don't think I have the Beta software- I bought it about 1 yr ago.

This weekend Im gonna unplug the TST from the map sensor and plug the factory back in, this way I KNOW the TST isnt somehow effecting the truck. The only things that have changed from me having a non surging truck to a surging truck is the beta software and switching out the edge comp for a quadzilla ( which surged) and now the TST. I put the quadzilla and the updated smarty in at the same time. Also this is with the quadzilla turned off when I was running it and now my current box turned off, You feel it and see it on the boost gauge when the cruise is set. It will go to 10-12 lbs, drop to 3 or 4lbs then back up to 10-12 lbs with the cruise set at 70 mph. Can we still load the old tunes?
