Talking smarty same as a superchips??

i recently let a guy try my smarty, his truck was a bone stock 99-5spd 4x4.i programed #9 and let him try it for a few days,he wasnt very impressed,he said it reved higher and smoked a bit,he had another buddy let him try a superchips tuner last year and he said it felt the same, does this sound right?with a stock truck the wow factor is very small?with my comp and injectors the diference is huge, anyone else have a stock truck with a smarty?

Yes, I have a stock truck and the difference is night and day with the Smarty.

I think the Smarty and Superchips products are the same - just like filet mignon and bologna are the same (both being round pieces of meat).

That's a pretty good analogy...one you know what your getting, the other, you don't wanna know

I'd suspect something's not right with his truck, if he can't tell a difference!

Disclaimer...never ridden in a Smarty equipped truck. I don't need one, and my buddies is on order

Sounds like the mentality of my dad. All he cared about when he put Don M mach 1's was fuel mileage, power didn't matter.

Some people don't like very responsive, rather quick vehicles. They want something slow and steady that doesn't "bother them" while they drive. So basically, any performance object rather it be a smarty or a Blue Chips Redline box, "it just makes it rev higher and smoke" to them.

I let a guy try mine on 9 on an otherwise stock truck and he wasn't impressed either. He normally ran an Edge EZ but we unhooked it to try the Smarty. My diagnosis as I rode along was that his trannycouldn't handle the power. It really seemed like it was slipping. I think that's why it seemed similar to the EZ. Stock PRNDL can't handle the power.

Was the tranny an auto on the one that tried yours?

Yepper, of course!
#2 is very similar to what the highest setting of the SC would do power wise but SC does no boost mapping....
Nough said?

I let a guy try my Smarty who was running just SC, he couldn't get over how quick his truck rev'd over the SC. When his truck got a little sideways in 3 gear on wet streets he had this look on his face, you know the one... He sat in my driveway and played with the bug fogger option for at least 5 minutes... He loved it.

I've got an auto and had an Edge Ez, my truck is slightly bombed I guess and I can honestly say there is no comparision to the Smarty. The engine idles much smoother, my mpg's have increased by 1 mph and thats around town in s/w 7 (yes the girlie setting) with 4:10's and the overall performance has been great. I'm very pleased with no regrets. JM 2cents

LoL, I actually thought s/w 3 was pretty good compared to my Ezzzzz, but lately my s/w 7 setting has been mislabeled the girlie setting so I'm playing along
