SB Con OFE

I recall reading that the South Bend Con OFE was strong enough to handle an edge comp and mach 2's and was more towing friendly. If memory serves, it was felt by most that the Con FE was a pain to tow with. So my questions are is it the OFE strong enough to handle the occasional playing around as well as towing?
Sorry for the rambling, it has definately been one of those days

I sure like mine. I dont think the ofe would have any probablem with a comp and 2's. It is a little grabbier than stock but not much. Peter at SB told me that he has seen some one into the 500 hp area with an ofe. So my guess is that there would be no problem as long as your close to the rated 450 hp mark.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how close I wouold be to the 450 level once I add the 2's and a dodgezilla turbo in a week or so. On a side note, does anyone have an estimate on the hp and tq I will be at?

I like my SBC Con OFE. It is holding up to a TST PM3, EDM2s, and a Dodgezilla. I really don't race or abuse the clutch, so someone with a heavier foot may have another opinion. I find the clutch fairly smooth, and if it is more grabby than the stock, it is not much.

My ofe is holding up to drag racing and sled pulling and towing. With 2.2 edms and tst3 comp with a b1-2. Very user friendly and have no complaints what so ever.

For myself as a 12Ver would it handel #10 plate, 370's and whatever turbo or houseing I would need to not blow up? I dont pull and the most I have ever towed was about 5000# for my car. I do sometimes race but I start in 2nd not 3rd.
