CON OFE

I have a quick question about the CON OFE for the 5-spd. It says it is good for 400-525 HP, is this engine or rear wheel? I am pushing around 425 rear wheel and would like to know if this will hold. Also, I dont run this much power all the time.

Re:CON OFE

Probably flywheel. It should be able to hold it. Once you get it in there, you'll be able to run max power all the time. ;D

Re:CON OFE

South bend seems to rate the clutches under what they will truely hold. I have seen a many truck pushing a little over what the clutch is rated for and it still holds.
DM01

I get the feeling Im missing something cause on their site I read where that clutch is rated at 450 hp. Peter told me that they rate em about 50 hp under the max hp they expect them to hold.

Re:CON OFE

Do you guys think I would have a problem hauling with the CON OFE for the 5-spd. I have had a couple people tell me that I would have to go with the 6 speed clutch to have it hold up, but I have a hard time beleiving that. I have over 15,000 miles on the stock clutch so the South Bend should last a lot longer.

Re:CON OFE

Depends on what you haul. I have a 2500 truck and the things I haul would make even a 3500 grown. Peter told me that I haul too heavy and that the center of the disc would not hold up under such strain. He said to go with the 13 conversion clutch. He said If I hauled what the truck is rated to haul it would be fine.
DM01

Re:CON OFE

I haul a 44 foot enclosed car trailer. I am not sure what it weighs but I am sure it is pretty heavy.
