rim problems

I have a 2001 quad cab diesel I am having problem with my factory aluminum rims cracking all the time. I have 285.75x16 BFG all terrain ta tires on the truck. One rim on my truck keeps on cracking I have had it fixed five times and it still keeps on cracking. I am looking for some info on a set of after market rims. Some dealers have told me that the back spacing on my truck could be a problem trying to find a rim that fits. I am getting fed up with the factory rims need some info on some good looking after market rims. Thanks for your time Diesel Demon.

I've never seen a problem with these aluminum wheels. Are yours subjected to any type of extreme operating conditions or loading? Is it just the one wheel you are having repeated problems with? If so, it may be worth replacing just the one, and see if you have problems with the replacement. I am curious as to what area of the wheel the cracks show up in- is it around the stud holes?

aftermarket rims aren't hard to find. Go to any reputable tire dealer and they'll be able to help you out. See my sig for the aftermarket rim I'm running.

I have had three factory rims crack as well. I have had two of them welded, and they just end up cracking somewhere else. I have heard from several people that these wheels are not as durable as they should be for the size of truck and what most people use them for.

I have wanted to get a new set of wheels for awhile, but haven't found one that won't stick out too far. I hate having the wheels stick out past the fenders. Got any pics of your truck with the Mojave's on?

I have thought about the Weld's that Kent Kroeker sells, but don't want to spend $500 a wheel for a wheel I don't like the looks of.

Does your tire blow out when the crack first develops? or do you have a flat the next morning? i would think that the crack would be the result of a few faulty castings and not a design issue...otherwise there should be a safety recall dont you all think?
I've got a spare set of alum. rims for my truck...never cracked...a little scratched up though. if you want them

or you could go with the stock steel rims instead of the aluminum.

It usually takes about a day or two before the tire is flat. The last time the rim cracked it cracked in two places.
