RemoteStart installed, where to tap the WTS ligh
I have the system completely installed, except I don't think I have the wait to start wire tapped into the correct wire. It starts with the remote, but it doesn't wait for the wait to start light to go off.
I have it tapped in to the Orange/black wire on the center plug on the PCM. when I test with my meter. I get 12v when I turn the key forward but only for a second. and the light stays on for 3-20 seconds. Is there a better place to tap this? is this the correct wire. The Remote starter is a ProStart CT-3200.

This must be a mystery wire? I put my multimeter on every wire I could find in the drivers foot well to see if I could fing the wire I'm looking for with no luck. any help would be great.
I'm assuming the truck your referring to is the 2000 in your profile? If so it's the orange/black wire in the top black plug in the center of the firewall in the engine compartment. It is a negative pulse wire.
Any more ?'s ask away.

Tachometer black/gray ignition coil
Notes: Diesel tach wire is gray/black. The wire is located on the center of the firewall. There are two black plugs, the wire is in the top plug without the white insert. The tach wire can also be found at the ECM on the passenger side firewall in connector C-1, pin 8.
Wait to start orange/black - center of firewall, black plug
Notes: See DirectFax document 1090.
There are two black plugs, the wire is in the top plug without the white insert.
If using the orange/black for wait to start causes a shifting or cruise control problem then use a pulse timer relay instead. Refer to DirectFax 1091 for wiring information.

Thanks guys for the help. I am going to see if I can get to the bottom of this today. I have to wait to get my Altinator back from being rebuilt. it took a cr@p yesterday. but I just got the call from the shop it will be ready today.
Again thanks very helpful

When I did mine I was worried about those statements of "if using the WTS light causes trouble" so I just set mine to a 30-sec delay (which is the longest the WTS light stays on in my neck of the woods). Some times in the summer I wish it would start faster, but I've gotten used to the 30-second delay now.
