Does anyone have any good info on a remote start for a manual truck? I was thinking of a viper or python? any info would be a great help thanks in advance.

thats all I would buy.
FYI, any place you buy it from is not going to install it in your manual. unless it has a neutral safety switch you can wire it into. the liability for them is not worth it if it remote starts in gear and drives itself over some old lady at the mall. I suggest you find a certified installer who will do it on the side and make sure they put in a neutral switch if it doesn't have one, AND wire it to your Ebrake too.

I have one similar to this in my manual and have installed two others. No problems whatsoever in 8 years.
Beware, if you want to install one yourself it will take at least 8-12 hours and a factory service manual is definitely required.

Does that allow the WIF sensor and grid heaters to do their thing before actually starting the engine?

The inexpensive ones I installed have an adjustable timer for the length of time inbetween ignition on and cranking. Since I plug in no grids are needed, mine is set on zero.
Some of the pricier units wire into the wait to start light.

My units came with a switch. It's sort of involved but foolproof. You have to put the truck in N, set the parking brake and lock the doors within 60 seconds. If one of these things aren't done or if the doors are unlocked prior to remote starting it won't work.

Sounds like a JBS unit..aka bulldogsecurity. I have put MANY of those in manual vehicles. They are almost foolproof, but I had one lady who just refused to leave it out of gear (airhead), and the autostart defeats the nuetral safety switch. It relies on you to comsciously take the bugger out of gear. Most do this especially when there are a few more steps to complete. The parking brake however, if adjusted properly, generally won't let it roll (or crank).

The JBS / Bulldog Deluxe 500 units I am familiar with are programmable for a delay, or a wait to start light input if so equipped. They also have turbo timers standard if you like.

The starter I had on my ranger made you have the e-brake set, and click the button while you're sitting in the truck. Turn the ignition off, and get out. Truck is still running at this point. Then hit the button on the remote again and it shuts off. If you open the door after that, it cancels the whole works and you have to start it manually. Theres really no way you can start the truck in gear unless you are actually trying to do it. This was an Autostart brand.
