Fuel pressure is ruining my life!

My fp gauge isolator is gonna die. I'm gonna shoot it several times with my 10 gauge. This isolator has caused me to replace the entire in-tank fuel assembly, test 3 different lift pumps, install a walbro pump system, all new fuel lines, new filter, change and rechange the gauge line install locations (4 times), and kick a hole thru a plastic bucket of kitty litter. (A 19mm flare wrench almost took flight, but I restrained myself). I have had it with this stupid daggone gauge. I've thrown giant handfuls of $$$$$ and spent hours rolling around in diesel soaked dirt, and still have the same results. NO FUEL PRESSURE! I can't take it any more man.

The gauge has been telling me the same story for a couple weeks now. When I first start the truck in the AM, the gauge is happy. Tells me I have 15 psi. Then by the time the truck warms up, the gauge is down to 0. So then the lift pump tests. Still 0. Then the fuel assembly deal. Still 0. Walbro system. Still 0. The only thing left is the gauge, or isolator I should say.

Can you get a setup for a diprocol high visibility fp gauge that runs diesel directly to the gauge, with no isolator? I haven't seen one available without the isolator. What parts would I need to convert mine? I'm also gonna install a mechanical gauge in the test port on the fuel filter. Can I see some pics of some mech. setups please. I'm accepting sympathy cases of Natural Light, or boxes of #2 steel shot, if yall want to mail them or drop by.

Loose the isolator, loose the problem. Just plumb it direct.

I guess the line to the gauge doesn't need to be braided, like the one to the isolator? I haven't pulled the gauge out of the gauge pod, but I'm assuming just hook the diesel line to the same fitting as the little isolator line?

No braided line needed. Just put a needle valve on the supply end of the conncetion. If you have a leak you can shut it off. 1/8" plastic line is all I use. No leaks, no problems.

Don't over tighten fittings.

Can you get the needle valve and 1/8" line at napa? I guess I could tackle that myself, I had a shop install my gauges and I don't know much about them.

Nope

listen to Geico on this one, I had the same problem, i did run braided line to the isolator, then from the isolator i ran 1/8 pressure tubing to my gauge in the cab, turns out i found a nice little male to male connection at the Pepboys and was able to hook the end of the 1/8 connection direct to the braided line, and low and behold, fuel pressure back to normal..

Ditch the isolator and be done with ur problem, i too run my gauge directly into the cab, no problems ever with it, Coarse i did have FP problems again recently but thats a whole other issue with the overflow valve..

Thank you, I'll take the isolator apart and see what I need to match up. Wouldn't that be nice, if that's all you need to do. I did go to napa and fabbed up a mechanical gauge using some brake line, and installed it in the test port on my filter. 18 PSI, no problems. Cab fp gauge says 0, of course.

oh man, almost everyone runs them with out an isolator timberman....

most that do run them either replace them real often or end up throwing it away and running it straight to the gauge.

Oh, I remember before I bought the gauges. Most of yall said not to get the isolator, just a waste of money, they go bad, etc. The salesman was like "Oh you need it for sure, I've never heard of one going bad, you don't want fuel in the cab, etc".

The isolator is getting gauged. I'll video tape it.
