Put the 5" on today!

Sounds like a Peterbilt!

The kit I bought was VERY inexpensive and went on without a single problem.

One small weld and that was it!

I've had harder times putting Apex'i exhausts on my Hondas...

ebay, Markoidaho...

I can't stress enough how good the quality is...

1 small, small issue...

The hangers come predrilled for a carter pin and a washer so it won't slide off... doubt it ever will...

BUT, the washers rattle something fierce...

I took mine off and put them in the drawer with my silencer ring...

I had the same washer rattle with mine. I pulled up at my parents house and my dad told me it sounded like a had a bearing going out, but it was just one of those washers.

Wrap the tar out of it with duck tape and youll never hear it again.

What for/where was the small weld?

I looked at his ebay store, good prices, and I can take off $25 more if I didn't get the muffler... hmm...

Good to hear you liked the kit. Same one I have, and yes those washers are going to get either removed or taped up to keep them from making all that noise. Sounded good all the way to Texas from Georgia at 70+ mph, gotta love it. (The exhaust note, not the washers)

How loud is the straight 5" in the cab? I currently have the stock system without the muffler (kept the resenator). I'm sure it is a lot louder than that, isn't it?

I don't want it real loud and obnoxious in the cab. I go on long trips with the family pulling my 5th wheel and I want to be able to talk in the cab.

Glad your 5" went easily. I went from 4" to 5" and it was a chore...probably due to unigue length of mydownpipe? Had to remove an reweld 3 hangers that were in wrong place.
Also, 2 places where the clearances are very tight! But the sound is very nice. Twins do quiet it down some.... just right to my ear. Without twins (or a muffler) I would not have a 5". JMO.

Definately deeper tone. Just a question of how loud you like it.

There is an "L" bracket by the tranny...

All you do is put one end in the stock hanger and tack the other half to the pipe...

I suggest getting everything loosely fit before going buckwild...

And I think its quieter in the cab now...

Also, when you lay your 3" pipe next to it, you can laugh...

Quiter in the cab with the 5"? In comparison to what?

I want the big sound on the outside but with a quiet sound on the inside of the cab with the windows up. I don't want to spend the bucks on an exhaust and it be too loud in the cab.

The 5"MBRP with the strait through muffler is a perfect exhaust it's loud enough to give you that deep tone but wont rattle your ears in the cab i had one for a while then i put a 6" stack up the middle, almost wish i still had it. Their muffler is just enough to mellow the sound out but still sounds real good
