pulling and egts
hey i have a 97 5-speed 4x4 315-75-16 with 370 100 plate 3gsk hx35/40 18cm2 exhaust housing 3" straight pipe. and i am planing on pulling a travel trailer and i am thinking the egts are going to get to hot. i am thinking of 4" all the way back and 16 cm2 exhaust housing but i dont know any advise. to lower the egts
Go ahead and do the 4in. but far as the turbo goes I think you will be OK. If you are thinking about water methanol I would stick to strait water or washer fluid. I’m not convinced that the ats or the htt manifolds do anything if the head is not ported and polished.
Don't waste your money on the housing or the manifold. An exhaust will be the best bet but still nothing major. You have a decent amount of fuel and will pull it fine but you will have to watch that pyro. Only safe bet would be to get a bigger turbo.

Also dont forget to time the truck as well 16-17 degrees will work great, better fuel mileage, slightly cooler EGTS, and a more effecient powerband for ur GSK... The turbo will be the best way to go, but a megamouth downpipe can be a good temp fix for high EGTS, better than a five inch exhaust with a stock mouth...
