post-turbo pyro temps

My pyro is mounted after the turbo (done by previous owner) until i get it changed to pre-turbo, which is on my list of things to do, what is a safe temp and a max temp for it being after the turbo on the truck in my sig?

I ran pre and post pyros for awhile and it can be an eye opener when it comes to difference in temps.

You can say that 900-950 post turbo is safe. There is about a 300 degree drop thru the turbo. BUT, when your hammering on it, I have seen 500 degree differences between pre and post so use your head when pulling hills or beating on it.

Lower temps during steady highway cruising, idling, and lower power situations, temps can be about the same pre or post, but start pushing it or adding fuel to the mix and they climb at different rates.

Be careful

Jeff

From my experience with pre and post EGT, Jeff's advice is 100% spot on.

I've drilled/tapped dozens and do nothing special at all with no problems, the shavings will blow right out the tailpipe the first time you start it.
I just can't understand the paranoia people have that makes them think they have to use grease and magnets or even remove the turbo. Only thing I can figure is they think they're working on the air intake side of the turbo rather than the exhaust side.
