Question P7100 info..

I have been looking around the net at the usual places for information on the tuning of the P7100 pump.. I've been to TST and Dodgeram.org etc to see if i can get some information on the AFC system in particular and some info on the cam plate and how the governor runs the rack.

I wanted to do some small tweeks on the pump even though everything is stock, but want to know if the AFC is at all similar to the VE on the older CTD.

Any new links would be appreciated..

Try Piers Diesel website @ www.piersdiesel.com. He used
to have several photos and explanations on different things
on the P7100 pump.

Thanks guys.. I just would like to find some info on making minor adjustments. Nothing too radical.. I am not asking for trade secrets, just some help on adjusting the AFC before and after a plate install..

P7100

Jason,
Marc just did my AFC spring kit , including a preload adjustment, and AFC housing full forward. He also slid my #11 a 16th forward while he was in there and backed off my GSK 2 clicks. Truck has never run better! Nothing to it. Give him a call.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Andy! Jason, I think you have just come up with a good excuse to meet for lunch - DTR P7100 conference. Tuning the P7100 is not rocket science but does require a little seat (or under the hood) time. Technically, we are not adjusting the P7100, we are adjusting the governor...... and the story goes on. There is no one condensed source of info on tuning the governor, but rather a whole wack of specific topics such as fuel plates, governor springs, afc springs..... I would suggest that you start reading about each individual component in the forums and then you will have a better understanding of how they interact. Napkins and coasters were invented for drawing pictures of governor components, not for placing glasses on. Let's hook up, draw some pictures, and make some smoke in the parking lot.

Well Marc,

I already had your email ear tagged for a chit chat here very soon.. The cold and business have gotten in the way as I am still trying to outfit this rig for work. I have a line on some gauges then its full steam ahead..

As for searching the forums.... I guess I will have to ante up to the TDR so I can use that function, I wonder if my username still exists after a 2 year hiatus.

I would appreciate the lessons on the ol pump and name the location and method of payment for such services .

I will be in touch...

Thanks to all ..

Gentlemen,
I'd be interested in joining you for that lunch meet. Name the date & place. I'll see if it coincides with work.

Hey, now we are talkin for a first ABDTR meet and Bomb meet....

I will have to confirm a date and place with Marc and we can all have a meeting and BS session... I might try to schedule a KDP fix also... Maybe not, that would be a full day.

Marc actually helped me decide over beers that the 12V was the way to go..

I didn't sell the 93 because I didn't like it, believe me.. But family and business collide and I needed only 1 truck.. This one popped up out of the grass.

If you hurry you might be able to get it at the place I left her...

Do you need a password to log in to Piers Diesel?

I'd be interested in reading some of his knowledge on the P7100.

Oops! Disregard. I tried to click your link and it has a period after the .com. That threw my Windows XP for a loop!
