Nitrous Question

I have a friend that just pulled his nitrous system off his trans am and I was just wondering could I out it on my diesel "as is" or would I have to buy any different solenoids? I'm new to nitrous and wondering what the difference is between a gasser and a diesel nitrous kit.
Thanks,
Cody

As long as it's a dry kit (no fuel sprayed with the N2O) it ought to work OK. Just make sure you trigger it with a pressure switch so it doesn't send the nitrous in with no boost.

Nitrous on a diesel is mainly to cool down the EGTs. So unless you plan on pushing alot of fuel and need to cool it down for a short burst, you may not want to fool with it.

its also broken down so the oxgen helps burn the extr fuel and make a huge kick in the pants on hp if you have the smoke to burn

Thanks for the replies, but I know what nitrous is used for. I was just wondering what the differences between the gasser and diesel kits are. My truck smokes, but maybe not enough to use the giggle gas. You can look at my pictures in my gallery and decide if i'm pushing enough fuel.

Looking at your dyno pic, I'd say you could use some nitrous.

Cody,

The diesel kits are setup as a dry nozzle kit. The main components are just the bottle, the solenoid, the nozzle and the line. You can wire them up different ways, but most generally run a WOT switch and a hobbs switch. The only main difference is that there is no fuel. You can either use a dry nozzle or use a wet nozzle and block off the fuel side.

You can also run NO2 into the fuel side of a wet nozzle in addition to the nitrous side
