Newbie to the forum with edge comp question.

I've looked all over the forums and really can't find answers to my questions. I have a 2001 3500, 6 spd. With Transfer flow aux tank, and 4" exhaust, no muffler. Also, a friend from Cummins headquarters loaded in a new ecm Cal. for me that just took out EMissions restrictions, which in turn, I'm guessing gave me 10-15% power increase, nothing to major. I have a few miles on the truck (126k)with no probs, but am starting to want more power and definately more smoke, but I'm not looking for a competition puller yet. I often pull heavy, the truck is commercially plated for 36000, and I've been overweight with it more than once. So, any mods need to keep it usable for occasional heavy towing. Sorry for the long description, but I wanted to give everyone enough info to make educated suggestions based upon my scenario. OK here we go...

1. Will an edge comp box create good smoke with no injector upgrade until I can get funds for injectors?

2 Do the Rv 275's and comp box make the best combo or would a diiferent injector match up better with the comp for what I want?

Also, a qualifier for my questions... I'm not intersested in replacing the stock turbo yet, however, I'm ok with putting in a better quality clutch as needed.

Also, I don't have gausgesd yet, but they will be installed prior to any other mods. EGT, Boost, and Fuel PSI.

Sorry for such a long post, but I'm thankful in advance for your replies. Also, I love this site, been on it none stop digging around the past few days. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts.

1. you will get a little smoke but not much since the computer controls the amount of fuel

2. the 275 won't smoke much but 75-100 hp injectors will, the comp and big injectors will put you over 300 hp and the stock turbo won't be big enough. this will smoke a lot.

Once you get a bigger turbo it won't smoke as much.

Yes you'll need a better clutch

You better get gauges the comp or injectors can easily burn up your engine.

The 275's and my Edge Comp with stock turbo would puff a good little cloud of smoke while the turbo spooled up (about 1sec) stomping it in 2nd gear. And then had a fine dark haze at WOT...good thing about the Comp and 275's is you can turn the Comp down or off to adjust to your pulling needs, and then turn it up when you want to play...
