new tranny for 2002 Dodge Diesel

I looking to getting a new (to me) automatic 4 speed (47re) tranny. What aftermarket do you like? Live in mountains and tranny burns fluid. 10000 lbs 5 th wheel and some 14% grades (yes 14%) that are about 3 miles long to get home. stock except exhaust brake and auto lock and a added a puck that adds about 50 hp to engine.

Give Dusty at htstransmissions a call and he'll fix you up and is a nice guy to boot. My trans has been flawless so far and love the way it shifts. He sent me the diagram to hook up a lockup switch but I haven't had a chance to do it yet. Also, tell him what you want to do with it and he can tweak the VB to make you smile that much more.

I know what you mean 14% grade.. I have been to Cherokee a # of times. Those hills had me overheating a couple of times pulling my old 13,500lb 5th wheel. I burried the temp gauge one day and unfortuneately the ECM and PCM see the temp and cut back on the fuel. Good luck with what ever tranny you get.

I have been through those hills. You could do a single disc and a good VB and some other little extra goodies and be good. Give Tim at TRE diesel a call. I jut talked trannies with him yesterday.

Call Dusty at HTS transmissions 877-630-9122 or at htstransmissions.com. HTS built the trans for the pinks bullydog truck and also builds transmissions for bullydog. Extremely nice business to deal with.

The web site for level 3 mega omega viper is http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm.

They seem to go in detail what is different from a std rebuild. I do not know anyting about transmissions so it is mostly greek to me.
