I'm replacing the factory muffler and resonator on an 01 5.9 magnum gasser.
what works well, sounds great?
a few years ago, for me, it was the flowmaster brand with 2 chamber.

I can agree with the 2chamber flow master I don't think you could go wrong with that setup. A single might make it too loud and raspy Vs the deeper slightly quieter (more defined) sound you get from a 2 chamber.

 

get on u-tube and search. there are tons of people posting the newest muffler or exhaust set up on vehicles. you may be suprised on what you find and hear. it may give you some ideas.
