alcoa classic wheels winter
alcoa classic wheels winter
Ok I am sure this is a redundant question but here goes
Being from the beautiful south I am not really all that used to worrying corrosion and rust. My new to me 97 that I brought to Buffalo, NY with me has been undercoated in an attempt to protect it while I am statoned here.
So here is were I am confused some, I just put alcoa classics on the truck and they are not coated. ALCOA tells me to wax and wash them often and there will be no damage, but reading online I see people saying that one trip in salt destroyed there rims, does this more so apply to clad rims vice the forged ?
I dont drive this truck more than I have to in winter but do drive it or twice every two weeks to keep it running.
Thanks all

Without a coating, you can clean, polish and wax your wheels. Clear wheel coating never seem to be durable enough to last long term. When they flake, and they will flake, you cannot get under the coating and the wheels look bad. Then, you have to strip the wheels to wash, polish and wax.
What sort of undercoating did you use? That fluid film stuff is great. spray it into the bedsides, fenders, rockers and cab mounts because those -will- rot out given time. The salt up here is terrible.
