Need More Power!

Just bought a '99 24V 5speed W/88,000miles,bonestock Exc.condition.want more power. It's an everyday driver,I do not tow or haul. I have a 12V so the 24V mod thing is new to me. I was thinking Edge EZ,275 injectors,SPS66,AFE filter,4"exhaust or Edge Comp,275 injectors,SPS66, AFE filter,4" exhaust or any other combo you 24V guys have. P.S. Will a stock clutch hold?

An edge comp, mach 4's, and a SPS66 would be a pretty nice combo. Might be a little on the warm side though. As far as your clutch goes, I'd be looking for an upgrade.

No you'll fry your stock clutch pretty darn quick with either combo. They hold up pretty well but if you are hard on them they start slipping pretty quick.

I would definetely go with the COMP over the EZ, trust me you will want the power later on. The 275's are good, but if you ever plan on going bigger ( which knowing about your other truck you will ) I would go with some mach 4's or something like that....... The SP66 is a good turbo but maybe not for an everyday driver, might look into the KSB-1 or a hybrid......... Also if you feel frisky, you could get the Mad ECM that's designed to go with the COMP and have some fun with that too!!

4" exhaust is a must as well as the gauges, but you already knew that. Also before doing any heavy bombing, I would strongly suggest tackling the fuel system on that. Get a better lift pump or ditch it completely and go with a Holley blue or equivilant, and upgrade to a HRVP44. These fuel systems suck and need some work to hold up well.

Mad ECM and Mach 4's with a PS64 will give you just over 400 hp., with plenty of air. Depends how high you want to go... hp wise. Will need a clutch.

Comp and Mach 4's, with a PS64 0r PS66 will give more adjustability and 450+hp. Will need better fuel system ....Holley Blue, FASS, etc.

If you don't need that much HP... the EZ ( or a MAD ECM) and Mach 1.6's and a PS 62 or 64 would be a great set up. I would skip the RV275's unless on a tight budget... most are not happy with them down the road. With no towing, and a careful right foot, your stock clutch should survive if in good condition. This combo is about 350 hp; your stock air and exhaust would be ok .....but the 4" exhaust would be nice..... along with Scotty's Fuel Flow system.

How much HP do you want?
