My lift pump went out... Need help!
Hey guys I have been hearing everyone talk about lift pumps and VP44's all the time now it happen to me (I think). I have a 2002 auto 4x4 with 78,000 miles on it and have been running the Preditor stage 3 module on it for about 9 months now. No problems till yesterday I washed it at the car wash then started it back up it ran for a sec then shuttered and died it took a good 30 seconds of turning it over then if finially started back up only to die again for good about a mile from the car wash. Now it is at DC shop they said my warrenty will cover a fuel pump or a lift pump.
My question is how do I add another lift pump (and what brand or kit) onto that one to prevent this from happening again or is it that I need a fass and get rid of the brand new pump DC puts on it? I maybe add 150 hp injectors in the future too. Also where is it located? Under the hood? or on the frame rail?
Thanks guys!

try posting in the 2nd gen board, they will be a little more knowledgeable about your truck. Here is the link

Theres not really a fix for that problem, they seem to fail no matter what aftermarket stuff you put around it. Hence why people say to carry a extra one in the truck.

The lift pump comes on the drivers side of the block behind the fuel filter, but that warrenty replacement pump will go into the fuel tank. Vulcanperformance.com has some line kits for that pump and a draw straw that allows you to bypass the in-tank pump for an aftermarket solution.
But for now don't do anything but a line kit and some guages cuz if your lift pump died your injector pump might die soon and you don't want to complicate your warrenty.

Sounds like the IP had already died, the dead LP alone would not cause the truck to quit. Once they replace the VP44 I would monitor the fuel pressure gauge to make sure their replacement is working properly to hopefully prevent another IP failure.
