I rebuilt the old 47RE and can now lock the converter in ALL forward gears!! Finally, now I can crawl along at the beach in 1st or 2nd gear locked up!! Killed another KDP this weekend too!!

 

So how did you manage this? I would like to be able to lock mine with the gear selector in "1" or "2" also for when i want to creep along.

Eric- get that valve body from Dave you are thinking about and you can lock up in any forward gear. I can!!!

mine will only lock up in second and then on and i dont think it will in 1 or 2 only drive? maybe i need to call dave and see if i can do some trading

 

Did Dave ask you if you wanted yours to lock in any foward gear? He asked me but im still waiting to put the tranny in its been sitting there for 2 weeks now

well the truck had the valve body and tq converter in it when i bought it, the guy before me didnt like lock-up switches so he just ordered the valve body without the 1-2 lock up, it will lock-in in 2nd if i flick the switch but it wont do it in anyother gear selection other than drive
