[QUOTE=Fueling around;2344784]You have enough fuel to roast the engine. I would check inot it. Is the tip of the pyro approximately in the center of the manifold port?[/QUOTE
yea it is right where it should be, normal cruising on 1x4 i see 600-700 degrees. i really havent tried the higher settings of the edge because my trans cant handle it

I shut my truck down below 400F. It would take about 15 minutes of straight idling to come close to 300F. I think pyro placement is important here. Let your truck idle for a few minutes after a light drive (off the turbo) and pick a conservative number in that ballpark that's good for you that you can live with....

I can hit 1400+ if I stand on it going up a freeway ramp, and that's bone stock and empty! With the smarty on 3, it goes to about 1250.

I can hit 2000 on a run to 140MPH, 1500 if I turn the edge off, but my truck also cools down to 260 after about 2 minutes idleing. sheriffav8r I think theres something wrong with your truck if it takes 15 minutes to get to 300.
On the highway my truck used to run about 580 degrees at 75MPH, now with this turbo its up around 900(not enough air).

What I was saying is that the temp depends on your pyro placement. I placed mine pre turbo as per Quadzilla's recommendation. It sits on the front side of the metal wall, I think. I'm only patient enough to wait about 20-30 seconds for the truck to cool down to less than 400. Just my circumstance, I guess....

Hmm still sounds strange that its staying that hot, I have mine Pre-turbo as well. I just use my turbo timer on the edge to keep my truck running till its at 300. Normally about 30 seconds to a minute.

I think some of you have either bad gauges or a broken fuel pump. My truck stock would get over 1100 deg. With Edge juice w/att it would get over 1350* and with 80hp injectors it was over 1500*. Now with 200hp injectors and the Quadzilla I can pull up to 1800*.
You guys that cant get over 1000* sound like you arent getting any fuel or something!?!?

The difference between pre & post temp is dependent on PSI & turbo backpressure. For example, 32psi on an HX35, post turbo was 950 degrees. Pre turbo it was 1500. The HX35 @ 30psi has a horrendus backpressure number.

I'de hate to see what mine was at right as it died at 50psi and 1960 degrees. Barked about 3 times then, out came the bearing and a bunch of oil haha.

I'd have to wait forever for my pyro to get below 400. I have it drilled into the manifold, between cyl #3 and the turbo.
I run 650-800 tooling around town, (empty), and have no trouble busting 1200 if I stomp on it.
I'm using the pyro that came with my adrenaline/pulse.
The engine runs pretty smooth but I'm considering mild injectors...or getting mine checked out at the very least.
I used a heat gun on the exhaust ports but the temps vary wildly depending on where the gun is aimed. I'm also planning to test the accuracy of my pyro.

Chapter President
An infrared gun is only as accurate as the painted surface you aim it at and how the iron translates the heat. Typically you will see up to 50° difference between the internal temp and skin temp of the manifold. If the manifold is shiny or stainless, then the infrared gun can vary by 100° or more.
