more power
I have a 97 CTD and all i have done is take out silencer ring, no cat and muffler. i have no idea how much horsepower and torque it has but you can always use more. So what can i do to increase these without spending a lot of $$$$$
I plan to get gauges but i dont know what all of them do. i know the pyro is exhaust temp, and in an automatic do i need trans temp, and what is boost? is there any others i would need? When i get gauges do they have all the needed things to get the readings? Im new to this so i need some help.

mitch go back and read some older posts ,there are tons of info in there.the general info that i have gathered is do your exhaust like you did ,put on a big air filter that replaces the air box,its called bhaf i would call it a baaf
install the pyro and boost guage and trans temp guage on the auto.then number 10 plate in stock position until you get a better trans and a 3000 rpm governer spring kit. That should put you close to 300hp.make sure you do all your maintanence and change to fresh fluids in the drivetrain just to get it in top shop so it will have the best chance of taking the new power and torque

Would free hp & torque interest you? If you've got the manual tranny, you've got the 215hp pump. If so, you've got about 50hp ... over 100 ft-lbs by sliding the stock plate all the way forward. Guages required.
