More Power
I have only owned 2 diesels now and i am wondering the cheapest way to get a little more power. I have learned a lot from this website and others but I still don't know enough to be smart. I am not looking for a lot of power just better throttle response and a little more power through mid RPM's. I was wondering if I can do away with the stock air pipe (form the turbo to the air box) and put a filter straight onto the turbo. If so what air filter is best. I have a K&N in the truck now. I have removed the silencer ring and would like to hear more whistling. I am not looking for earthmoving power just some more grunt. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. 2002 1 ton dually 4x4 4.10's.
That little electronic box. More fuel and air. All the other stuff is there to open the motor up. No more fuel no more power. And of course theres the timmimg thing that the box does, they do more than add fuel. My 2c

Staight exhaust or high flow muffler (minus the resonator)
Minimum of at least a K&N
Edge EZ.
This will give you very noticable power without having to really worry about gauges or transmission upgrades. To add really noticable power throw in a set of injectors, but then find you a tranny man if you got an auto.

I have the edge ez and the afe makes a big difference i would start there. Next would be a valve body ( shift kit ) the bigger exhaust. that should do ya if not come nice injectors should call it a day. just a little note bomming is additive so i would purchase the edge comp as you can run it in ez mode and turn it up later if needed its worth the extra money upfront. wish i would have bought it.
