More Power
My dad has a 95 reg cab long bed truck. The mods are a 100 plate full forward, swiss cheese air box, timing advance wastegate unplugged and mystery switch. He is running a factory trubo that at full load spins 30lbs. His question is how to pull a 7% grade for around 4 miles without dropping down to 40 mph. Looking into a twin setup and/or injectors but money is tight so he was wondering what might work the best before he spent the money on it. Also the last time he pulled it he didn't use the mystery switch just let the tranny downshift like normal and when it dropped into 3rd and unlocked the tc of course it lost alot of the power. Thinking about next time turning off the od and locking the tc with the switch and see how that does. Any info yall can give would help.
Pulling that long and hard towing he would most likely need more air. If he got a set of injectors or DVs I would seriously doubt that he wouldn't have EGT problems with the HX on there now.
BD makes the Super Singel B thats good for 525 RwHP and keeps the EGT's low, PRD also sells lots of good ones like the B-1 and the HX-40. you cant fix every thing by throwing more fuel at it like most people do, you need to fix the prob not make it worse right? With the pump advanced that far you are going to lose some bottom end. thats fine for a hot rod but a little much for towing. He will have to remember that with a mechanical engine that you have to find a middle ground. How much is he pulling, it may just be too much to go 80mph up a hill like that. Hope yall can make it work. I would go with a single turbo twins are nice but cost a lot. Good luck.

94-95 have really small fueling in many ways. The pump has a short governor, small cam & small delivery valves. Add small injectors
94-94 pumps defuel very early in the rpm curve. I'd suggest a 3k gsk to open up the fueling, but He would probably eat up the lock-up clutch. Extra hp and extra rpm are a bad combo for a stock (slop) converter.
You're going to need a trany upgrade long before a turbo upgrade.
You can get larger delivery valves and 180 hp or even 215 hp injectors pretty cheap. Often for free if you connect with someone that has a 96-98 truck and is upgrading.
What are EGTs now running that hill at 40 mph? He does have a pyro?

The tranny has a new Heavy duty TQ and the valve body has been reworked by someone that has a tranny shop and use to drag race mopar. The shifts a firm and crisp. Haven't pulled the Hill since the pyro was installed. Didn't think we needed one till I melted mine down.(see pics in gallery). I have a htt 60/12 hx40 hybrid and mine at 3k egts go high but at 2500 there fine. Have thought about the delivery valves. Thanks for the help will look into the delivery valves and injectors and the possible turbo upgrade.
